Don't let the first inning fool you. Karstens sucked and should have given up more than one earned run. Three hits, almost hit a batter, and benefitted from a caught stealing at home plate (yes, that's right, home plate).

I know, I know . . . Spring Training means squat.
That being written, the fifth spot in the rotation is a huge problem right now. Makes Gorzellany's performance (or lack thereof) all the more disappointing and frustrating.

Jack Flash bails out Karstens with a two run HR in the 3rd to tie the game, Karsten promptly beans Harris and gives up a gopher ball to Kubel in the bottom of the inning. 4-2 Twins still in the 3rd.

Don't think Karstens will make it through the third. He's being clubbed like a baby seal!

Karstens 3rd:
HBP
HR
Single
Single
Single
Ball smoked to the warning track
Ball smoked right at Moss
K

5-2 after three........

Methinks NH will be acquiring a SP from outside of the organization before the start of the season. Would be nice if we had the talent to get Niemann/Hammel. I might even settle for Pedro at this point.

Welcome to the darkside BBF!

Hey, Josh Fogg is looking...........

Update - Karstens gets out of a jam in the 5th. Twins should have about 10 runs.

Capps has been flying under the radar, should we be at least a little bit concerned? He just got chased in the 7th after getting only 1 out.

As a Capps owner in the fantasy league, yes, I am concerned. Anyone interested in a trade? ;)

Capps will need to suck in the regular season before I worry.

As for the 5th starter, I believe Karstens has earned it...to be the 5th starter in Indy. I am all for NH going out and finding a veteran to fill out the rotation.

Brett Tomko had a pretty good spring for the Yankees and it doesn't appear he is going to make their 25.

Any takers?

I wouldn't have much interest in signing Pedro as a 5th starter, but when you factor in that he may be the 2nd best starter on the team- I'm all for bringing him in.

What are the odds that Capps is hurt again? He did the same thing last year before going on the DL.
