Will Starling Marte be allowed to be in the clubhouse? Can he work out with the team in Pittsburgh? Will he be allowed to workout at Pirate City in Bradenton? Or is he an outcast for the next three months?

I see many people on Twitter calling for the Pirates to trade/ release him, but that's not realistic given the contract he signed (nor is that what I want). So he will be back in uniform later in the summer. I'm just curious about what the restrictions are for him to work out with the big club.

Thoughts?

I can tell you for sure that he won't be allowed at any of the major league facilities or events. I can't speak for minor league facilities since I think technically they are a separate entity with their own rules.

My guess is he won't be allowed on any team facilities or activities. But that's what happens in the NFL. Not sure what it is in MLB but I assume it is similar.

He can practice at Pirate City or at the Pirates Dominican Academy. When there are 15 days left, he can be assigned to a minor league team.

He's going to go on a 2 and one-half month clubbing binge in Seoul with Jung Ho.
