I know it's still early, but the game against the Cards tonight is critical IHMO. After sweeping the Cubs at Wrigley and losing against the Cards in St. Louis the next day is NOT what the Pirates needed. This three game series against the Cards is very critical. They better win tonight's game because if not, this will be a VERY LONG and FRUSTRATING baseball season. Bury the Birds!!!!!

PS: It's not only that they need to win tonight's game, but the Pirates also need their OFFENSE to win tonight's game.

you mean like it was for the Cards last year, after the Bucs swept them in their opener?

Right, because last year's huge games look small in the rearview mirror. As this one will in a week or so. All the games are the same size.

I know, I know, I know...they are all important...yesterday's game is just as important as tomorrow's game...etc., etc., etc.

I say tonight's game against the Cards IS VERY HUGE...period end of sentence.

Are you familiar with the term recency bias?

What makes tonight's game bigger than any other?

If they lose tonight and don't sell off by end of day tomorrow then I will just have no words for this front office.

Sell off what?

Everyone over the age of 26. Stock up on blue chip AA prospects and start over.

***I am of course kidding.

Being 6-9 with the level of pitching this team has had should be a criminal offense.

I'm glad you added that last part.

There will be plenty of time to sell come July, if it comes to that. Considering how good the starting pitching has been, they just have to keep playing and hoping for the best. Long way from here to there.
