I agree. Pitchers go right at him. He doesn't walk anymore. When Cutch was at his best, even he was in a bit of a slump, he would walk a bunch of times. Now, if he's not hitting, he's not getting on base. Pitchers go at him more and he chases more pitches.

Seems like a pretty typical Cutch April to me.

Hahahah

He makes good points about last season (esp exit velocity) but jeeeeeez turn two outs into hits and he's batting .290+.

It's jaw-dropping how far Cutch has fallen. I hate it because he seems like such a great guy and representative of the Pirates (and all of baseball for that matter).

We need Cutch to step it up about ten notches. The Pirates aren't making the playoffs with 2016 Cutch and they won't get a pirates loot in return via trade either.

It's hard to draw conclusions this early, but with the bat, I don't see any improvement from last year.

In terms of foot speed though, he looks quicker to me than last year.

What I got from the article is other teams in the league don't think he has protection in the lineup.
Were Pedro and Walker that valuable to Cutch?

Seeing as how Pedro batted 7th and Walker usually 6th or so, then not at all.

He's got a 8 game streak going now.

Talk to me in late May if these numbers hold up. Till then... pfftt.

No.

It was Clint Barmes that opposing pitchers feared.
