He's thinking that the Cardinals won't be a factor this year for any type of playoff contention. The Bucs are catching them at a good time. They look awful.

They do look bad. It's not just that they are playing poorly. They don't have the talent.

They finally ran out of pixie dust.

Cardinal fans can be the biggest whiners in sports, despite their enviable record of success (kind of like Cowboy fans think everyone is out to get them and doesn't respect them enough in the NFL). Last year I think some of them were on suicide watch after the Bucs opening sweep. "Metheny sucks!" We won't win fifty games this year!" Can't hit.....can't pitch.....

The defense has been atrocious.
Wong has turned into a bad player.
Wainwright's curve ball is no longer a feared pitch.
Carlos Martinez's last outing makes Tyler Glasnow look like a master of control.
Fowler looks lost at the plate.
The bullpen as a group is mediocre, at best.
Gyorko and Piscotty aren't producing.

There are a plethora of problems on that team right now.

The Cards were dealt a bad turn of events when one of their best prospects, Reyes, underwent TJ surgery.

Like the Pirates and Taillon, and Kingham, and Holmes, and Sadler, and Cumpton, and Angel Sanchez.

Welcome to the party, pal.
