If the Pirates were to get to the point where they were guaranteed a winning season, would you rush to field to celebrate?

No but dammit I'd crack open an Iron City Beer here in Omaha, kick my feet up, and smile...just smile!

The sarcastic side of me says I won't be physically able to rush the field by the time they have a winning record. But seriously, I would never rush onto the field under any circumstances.

I might rush the field, but Dodger Stadium personnel would wonder what the hell I was doing.

I think of the Eagles with Dick Vermeil when they finished 9-7. Tears rolling down his face, Dick triumphantly raised his hands and proclaimed they had become winners that day. I can't help but think of it everytime I think about the Bucs' quest for .500.

I'd condone rushing the field if the Bucs win the division. Not 82 games.

With the Pirates luck that 82nd victory would be forfeited because of the rushing of the field and keeps the team at 81 wins...

Yikes ... I had no idea I was captured on film that day. As I told the police, I was simply enjoying a run in warm weather, was a bit overdressed, became overheated, and the rest is history.

I was one of many to rush the field back in 1979 when Jim Rooker and Bert Blyleven combined to stifle the Orioles in Game 5 of the World Series. It was an electric moment in Pittsburgh sports history. The crowd was nearly as rabid that night as any Steeler crowd I've ever seen.

Thank being said, I was 19 years old. These days I tend to avoid rushing anywhere except to the betting window at Mountaineer when I lose track of post time.
