The Pirates made some announcements. None surprising. Just official.

Pearce also optioned. He will play first at Indy. Didn't make the roster because they don't feel his ceiling is a MLB bench player.

Picked Giles off first by a lot, then threw out a runner at third on attempted sacrifice. He is there defensively, but his hitting is just not much.

Jaramillo must have the defensive abilities of Johnny Bench behind the plate because he was outhit BADLY by Robinzon Diaz.

Jaramillo threw out runners at all three bases. If we had a pitcher like he can pick off runners...................

And if spring training batting stats were all that was necessary to measure the offensive ability of a player, I am sure Diaz would have won out. Hell, Diaz would be our starting LFer.
