Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place.

Bought several of this guy's rookie cards when he was with the Yanks... was sad to see him go, not only because I think h ecould be a stud, but also because I now have a bunch of his rookie cards, and a certified autographed baseball of him.

Think they're worth holding onto, or should I sell now? Any chance he'll be a mid season call up this year?

yes and no..

i would wait how Jose fills out over a few years and the cards are probably not worth that much right now...
he has impressed so far with the pirates this ST and last year, but a mid season call-up , i don't think so..

i would prefer to bring them all up in 2010 Tabata, McCutche & Alvarez..
then bring in a stud proven pitcher by trades or FA and 2010 will be the beginning of a Pirates evil adventure

Most Pirate fans are excited about him as well. Don't see it this year, although September call up likely, if he performs in minors. Maybe by next year. Not much room on this year's team, and would almost surely sit too much. He needs to play everyday.-- But is clearly a good one,so thanks.

Tabata won't see the majors until September, 2009 -- if then. The Bucs plan on playing Tabata exclusively in CF in Altoona. The day that Andrew McCutchen is brought to Pittsburgh, Tabata will move to Indianapolis.

As for your memorabilia, hang on to it. When Tabata turns into the next Alex Rios you can gaze at those cards while cursing Brian Cashman, lol.
