The Buccos got the spotlight for MLB Network's "30 Teams in 30 Days", yesterday. I think it may still be airing throughout today (Wednesday).

I caught an interview with Eric Hinske, Paul Maholm and Andrew McCutcheon. The studio analysts were quite complimentary of the Bucs' new regime and kept focusing on their crop of young players (McCutch, Neil Walker, Jose Tabata and constant oogling over Pedro Alvarez). Comparisons were made to lats year's Devil Rays and other recent breakthrough teams. At times, they seemed to be simply reading a roster card (especially former Rangers GM John Hart), but overall they painted an upbeat image heading into this 17th losing season. Positive national exposure for the Bucs can't hurt.

Oh, and as a bonus I got to gawk at Trenni Kusnierek once again. Bucs/Rays game on Monday night and a Pirates special on Tuesday?! Me likey MLBN (well, aside from Harold Reynolds' laid-back surfer voice and the constant commercials for the channel).

MLB Network could be valuable, since it focuses on just baseball. The Yankees, Mets and Red Sux cannot fill a network 24 hours per day - just 12 hours per day, as is true with ESPN (Eternally Sux Pablum & News).

I would suspect that the network will provide some news and information about clubs like the Pirates, Rangers, Royals, etc.

I always thought ESPN was Eastern Seaboard Pandering Network. Shows what I know. ;)

Nice ... I like the interpretations of ESPN.

In the 2007 football season, ESPN stood for Endlessly Stroking Patriots' Nuts.

Those guys seem to be pretty upbeat about every team they spotlight. You're right about Hart. There was something he said that was pretty outlandish which proved he didn't really know much about the Bucs. I just can't seem to recall what it was. And Mitch Williams and Al Leiter (I think) and when I've seen Sean Casey on there a few times haven't had a bad word to say about anyone. The network should be good for highlights and hot stove stuff, but as far as honest opinions go it seems to be lacking.

Is there a way to get them to handle reviews of my work performance?
