I think Pittsburgh could finish as high as third if everything falls into place..I got them in 4th with about 80 wins, slightly below .500 with 2010 being a breakout year.

Guys Houston as high as second????

The first Vegas over/under numbers just came out and they give the Astros a 66, one game ahead of "Guess Who" the worst team in baseball at 65.

They just had to resign Mike Hampton for Christ sakes!

I once shut up a Pirates bashing Houston talk host by saying, "Tell you what, I'll trade you Snell, Gorzelany and Maholm for Oswalt.......and......uh.......um......hmmmmmmmm"

It's too early for me to hazard a complete run-down of standings, but I will say confidently that I have Houston pegged to finish last in the Central. The 2008 Astros = the 2007 Mariners ... and if Ed Wade didn't do something as stupid this off-season as trading the farm for an Erik Bedard, it's only because the Astros have no farm to trade. Houston will stink on ice in '09.

And they will still probably finish ahead of the Pirates, sorry to say.

1. What were the odds on the Rays last season?

2. We just signed Eric Hinske for Christ sakes!

I truly don't think the Pirates will be AS BAD this year. I'm predicting we'll win 75-80 games this year.

i think either the Pirates or the Astros lose 100 games and im sorry to say i have the Buccos going 61-101 this season, but i do agree with curveradio in that the Pirates will have a breakout year in 2010 getting to within a couple games of .500

When will people give up on Hampton, he's single handedly driving up the League's Insurance Premiums...

He's hurt again isnt he?

The state of California or the town in South Western PA?

Hey Colin, when you get to Wheeling, 70 miles west on I-70, let me know. We'll have you for lunch and a beer, maybe a shower if you're inclined to spend the time. Will you be the "new" Forest Gump?

I'm only picking Pittsburgh 4th in the central, and the Yankees and Cubbies in the series. I say that the Cubs will finally get the monkey ..er... cow off their back.

Well i'm not sure on that. That will be decided at the all-star break depending on where the Pirates are at, but i was referring to the State. If this ends up happening this walk could take me a year i would say.

AL East
1. Yankees
2. Rays*
3. Red Sox
4. Orioles
5. Blue Jays
The Yankees spending spree will result in a good regular season, and a miserable October. The Rays were no fluke and Boston may be due for an off year. The Blue Jays are going to be terrible.

AL Central
1. Indians
2. Tigers
3. Twins
4. White Sox
5. Royals
Cleveland has been up in odd years, down in even years lately. I think they will continue their hot streak from the second half last season (plus they made some good moves this offseason). Detroit will improve on last year's horrible season.

AL West
1. A's
2. Angels
3. Rangers
4. Mariners
I think the Holliday and Giambi acquisitions mean Billy Beane thinks he can win this year. If he thinks so, I think so. Plus the Angels won't be as good this year.

NL East
1. Marlins
2. NY Mets*
3. Phillies
4. Braves
5. Nationals
I'm surprised the Marlins are flying as far under the radar as they are this year. The Mets won't allow themselves to miss the playoffs for a third year in a row, but these Santana arm problems are troublesome.

NL Central
1. Cubs
2. Reds
3. Brewers
4. Cardinals
5. Astros
6. Pirates
People are expecting the Reds to improve greatly this year. I say ok, they'll manage a 78-84 record and second in this awful division. The Pirates stink. They aren't good or interesting.

NL West
1. Giants
2. Dodgers
3. DBacks
4. Rockies
5. Padres
I think the Giants pitching moves will help them take the division. But, much like the NL Central, this division is very weak. Manny-drama will be enough to push the Dodgers back to 2nd place.

I'm going out on a limb and saying there will be a Marlins-Indians World Series.
