Anyone else hoping that whatever strategy these two are employing backfires?

I'd laugh if he goes to the St Paul Saints

I think he's going to have to accept what the Dodgers are willing to pay, because if anyone else was going to offer that much, they would have done so already.

I also think that he will be a disgruntled Dodger and will cause problems.

Manny is overestimating his value. His age, his attitude, his defense, and the current economic conditions are all working against him, and he doesn't want to accept that.

I know Manny is an idiot, and a lot of people think this is a Boras ploy. However, it could be Manny delaying signing so he doesn't have to deal with spring training. You know he hates spring training, and this is the perfect excuse to show up a couple days before the season starts and take a few swings, then go out and hit .330 again. Just a thought...

Your thought is shared by others. I posted in the other Manny thread that the guys on ESPN yesterday were talking about how Manny is doing exactly what you said. Just like the rest of the world, I think Manny probably ends up a Dodger. But the longer this thing goes on, the more the Yanks come in to the picture.

I just think he doesn't want to have to play in spring training. He is either going to take this offer or wait and see if the Mets make him an offer. I just don't think he wants to seal the deal until its closer to the start of the regular season.

It's not that Manny is an idiot.. believe me he isn't..he knows what he's doing..but as much as I love watching him play, a part of me is hoping this completely backfires.

In the end, Manny will be in camp by the end of next week and wind up hitting .320 with 40 homers and 120 RBI's with the Dodgers winning the West.

There's a reason you don't hear anyone talking about the Yankees signing Ramirez (especially the New York Press Corps). THEY CANNOT SIGN MANNY RAMIREZ!!!

According to MLB's collective bargaining agreement...due to the number of Type A and B free agents available...the max number of other teams Type A free agents the Yankees are allowed to sign is 3. And they have already signed them...Sabathia...Burnett and Teixeira.

"Dodgers are smart for not caving in and signing Ramirez for extortion money, and the stalemate is the fault of that idiot, Scott Boras."

/s Baseball fan

"Pirates almost royally screwed the pooch on the Pedro Alvarez signing, and their front office needs to be made accountable for the fiasco."

I am usually on the wrong side of that line.
