Does anyone know what is wrong with Dejan Kovacevic? I am pretty concerned about his health considering he hasn't been covering the Pirates for some time now. Does anyone have any info? I really miss his coverage for the Post-Gazette.

He has a bad back - bulging disk, sciatica, etc. Details are on the PPG blog. He is reportedly getting better and will be going to Bradenton soon.

I miss his work but am pleasantly surprised at the job Chuck Finder is doing covering for him.

You are correct, Finder is doing a fine job. Thanks for the info!

I feel his pain. I have the lingering effects of a bout with the same problem. I am in the sciatica stage with varying nerve BS from my glutes down the hammies into the calf. Some real fun.

Have you tried the chiropractors "rack" for this? They have a medieval tool that you strap into that pulls your spine and hips into place, slowly and over time. Releases pressure between the "squished" vertebrae, allowing the disk to slide back into place... theoretically.

I have been to chiropractors, MD's, acupuncture you name it over the last 15 years. Wear and tear of playing hoops till the age of 30 on asphalt courts with old Chuck Taylors resulting in compressed disc between L3 and L4 and the subsequent results. Jeez old age is great. Time is the only remedy. One day I will wake up and all will be fine. Could be two weeks or two months.

Finder is doing a good job, but DK is much better.
