I can't pick it up here, but I'm following on live boxscore:
Morgan
Sanchez
McClouth
Doumit
LaRoche
Monroe
Moss
Vasquez
Wilson

Score is tied at 1-1. Morgan is 1-2 with a run scored; Freddie is 2-2 w/ and RBI

Adam LaRoche 0 for 2 with 2 strikeouts. Wahoo! Capps pitched a scoreless inning, albeit with 3 walks. Freddy 2 for 2.

Second basemen having a big day...Shelby Ford bats for Freddy and hits a 3-run homer. Pirates lead 5-1

I just tuned in. I guess it's a good way to get used to the new announcer.

Two hard hit balls for outs I could live with, but 2 K's make me think same old, same old. Yeah, I know, it's early............

LaRoche still has killing small animals on his mind.

8-1! Is it too early to get in line for playoff tickets?

For those who care, Alvarez strikes out in his first major league at bat. Blass said he looked stupid on two change ups.

He'll get there. Pro pitching, even AA level guys, are way different than what he saw at Vandy. He needs a couple of hundred ABs before he figures out what's going on.

Last spring, Adam crushed the ball, then started out 2-27.

I actually hope something is different this spring, but I will honor my promise to expect a slow start from Adam, with a good second half. That is his history and I do not expect much to change this year.

But if he hits 25 HR's with 90 RBI's, a .270 average, .360 OBP, and .490 slugging, he will be one of the best hitters on the Pirates.

So, thoughts on the new announcer? Overall I like him...good radio voice and smooth call of the game, but I think it will be a while before he has a good knowledge base of the franchise. Some of his lower moments were when he was expressing surprise at seeing Steve Pearce playing 1st base, stating that Pearce is an outfielder by trade. Bob tried to gently correct him by saying that Pearce had played a little 1st in the minors.

The other lowlight was when he stated that JJ Furmaniak reminded him of a guy that used to play for the Pirates. Hmmm...maybe, um, JJ Furmaniak. At first I assumed he knew this and was being sarcastic, but his further comments lead me to believe that it was not the case.

Decent voice. Hope he gets a little more animated as he gets comfortable.

So he was right? Geez, how can you criticize the guy for being right?
