Hell yes. This is such a big game...the biggest of the season...that I'm working from home this afternoon. The team needs our mojo. I'm in.

The Pirate drained me this year. I cannot even stand to watch. I know they are on today and I just can't bring myself to watch it. I am sick of being disappointed. And before you talk about the 20 years of disappointment, two totally different things.

Buck up, put on your gameface. It's all hands on deck time.

I hear you. It has been draining, being on the fringe for so long.

I'm still paying attention, but not nearly as closely as I was earlier in the season.

I'm pretty much in Steeler mode now. Baseball critics basically figured for regression this season. Its still been a solid. Better than the 20 year thing.

Fan for 57+ years......yes I have had my share of letdowns by the Pirates(1950's had some real stinkers). I hope when we get into the bullpen, if leading, Hurdle will send out the "A" folks. It seems if we have bad starting pitching we get good bullpen support and vise-verse.

It can't be considered an error but Ike botched a fantastic throw from Marte for a possible double play. No damage on the scoreboard but it did add three more pitches for Vólquez.

In the bottom of the inning we had first and third one out Marte up. First pitch of the at-bat was 3-4 inches inside and the ump called it a strike.

Marte ended up lining out to second and Mercer flew out. I would really like to have seen how that Marte at bat would have turned out if the ump had called the pitches correctly.

Great, great, great performance by Vólquez today. Let's hope the bullpen can hold the zero and the offense can wake the hell up.

Wow. When did d'Arnaud get called up? I completely missed his arrival...

Me too. I just can't bring myself to sit down and watch. I follow at a safe distance. Life's too depressing in other ways to add to it unnecessarily.

Yeah, that pitch wasn't even close.

I think Cutch wins this one 1-0 with an opposite field shot.

That was a great AB by Polanco - 10-pitch walk. Let's hope that's a sign he's working out of his slump.

Who is this pitching in the 8th? Is Hurdle still the manager? I like the move.
