Thought Fiers' control was a little suspect there despite going 1-2-3.

Marte has been on fire. His homer ties the game at 2.

Meanwhile:
-Cardinals down 5-0 in the 4th
-Braves down 3-0 in the 6th
-Giants up 5-0 in the 3rd

Maybe the Vanimal will be the next guy to go on the 15 Day DL?

The Brewers have 8 two out hits in two innings.....
They have yet to get a hit with 0 or 1 out.

This is why I really wanted to see them acquire a starter at the deadline. Worley and Locke in the rotation is not conducive to a pennant chase. They got enamored with their early success and forgot who they really were...Vance Worley and Jeff Locke.

I'm fine with keeping our prospects instead of trading for a short term fix that wouldn't make or break a championship run. Not having the option of bringing up Taillon sucks.

Worley's been fine except for the first against Atlanta. He has the curse of the seeing eyed BABIP today.

But the average of balls hit for a hits goes up substantially when the ball is up in the zone. Credit to Fiers, his ball has been down or jamming bucs for the better part of the game.

Bats silent.

Almost a sweep. Unfortunate Cutch had no one on base there. Worley settled down but again another slow start]. The gloves need to be ready when he's pitching. Pedro should've hit that first pitch meatball to Michigan. Hack away. Don't get in a hole.

And as it seems the standings won't change much. The next two series direly important.

I agree with ZM, that Worley killed by BABIP. Lucroy's flare to RF, the Gennett deflected single are 2 runs on 2 balls that were not well-hit.

But that is why I prefer pitchers that K at least 7.5 per 9 IP. Good K rates tell the BABIP gods to go #@%& themselves.

Yep, Worley is going to throw the baseball for strikes. Most are going to fall. Major league hitters on a first place team. When's he's up, bad things.
