The one thing I want(ed) done either at the deadline or through waiver trade is the addition of a bullpen arm or two. If Cole isn't coming back this year, that nukes any thoughts of moving Volquez to the bench (though at this point, Locke might be the one who would be bumped anyway). I don't see why they don't bring up Mazzaro. He can't be any worse. What about using Cumpton in Gomez's spot?

What other viable relief arms are there in AAA?

Travis Snider's "toe" had actual "surgery" performed on it after the season ended.

This "convenience list" narrative has more than run it's course. When a guy goes on the DL, he's injured.

It always sends a chill down my spine when I hear somebody say "so and so can't be any worse". If there's one thing we all should have learned over the past two decades, it's that so and so most certain CAN be worse, and usually IS worse.
