This is turning into a typical 2014 Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game. Bucs grab the lead, then the defense gives the lead back, and the Pirates bats go silent.

Neil with a dinger....he seems really on lately. Cutch not so much, rolled over an outside pitch to 3rd. He is such a good hitter to right, barrel it up Cutch.

Ike was to blame on the error. Not a great throw but one that a professional 1B should snag.

Gibson must be the anti-Hurdle with pitchers; he took Collmenter out after the game-tying home run from Walker. Meanwhile, Hurdle trots Locke out there with about 90 pitches under his belt. Locke then proceeds to give up a two-run shot with almost 100 pitches, Hurdle, of course, keeps him in, and then Locke gives up another HR. 6-3 DBacks. Now Hurdle goes to the 'pen.

No reason Locke should've even started that inning. He was terrible all night. Why many wanted to see some pitching acquired today. He hasn't been good for 3 starts now...

And Jeff Locke officially sucks for the third straight game. He has now given up 7 home runs over the last three starts spanning 19 innings.

It's the most aggravating part of the way Hurdle manages games; he sticks with his SPers one inning too long.

I'm glad someone else feels the same way about Hurtle's management. He seems like he is always reactive and not pro active. Big league managers are paid to win ball games not be friends to players. I think NH not getting into the trade action and staying status quo is more about feeling we are not contenders than being happy with the current roster.

Down three with three innings left? Let's pinch hit a guy hitting .125. Yeah.

.116 now. That's what happens when you suck with a small sample size.

Good to see Cutch get an RBI. Hopefully that's the beginning of the end of this drought.

Come on, bullpen. No more runs.

I'm OK with it. The only way the Pirates will have a young/prime, elite rotation is if they develop those arms themselves and keep them. Years of Cole, Taillon, Kingham, Glasnow, etc. is more beneficial to the long term success of the Pirates than trading them for rentals that more than likely wouldn't be the difference between winning a championship and not. People will be thankful when all those guys are in the rotation buzzing 98 mph fastballs by people.

I know who got the error. Thanks. Wish ike could've caught it. Changed the game slightly. Locke was already on his way to blowing up after 3 clean innings and then a bunch of trouble and the bats were going silent. Still, that was an awful throw from where he was. A heater in the dirt from the pitchers mound up the line with the pitcher running. Have to hit your first baseman in the chest and get out of the inning.
Just hit the guy in the chest. Christ man. Out.

That throw was terrible, yes Davis should have dug it out, but Pedro should have had throw at chest level from that distance!

Definitely the strength of the system, has been, and now some of the position players are catching up. Definitely excited about the potential Meadows and Bell possess. I'm over it. I questioned myself. I don't want rental players that are going to tear apart the plan because they demand so many pieces.

Though I would've given Pedro and a piece for Price and an extra year. Is there really that big a difference between Alvarez and Craig. Alvarez and Locke? Craig and Kelly? Apples and oranges?
