They wrote about it on ESPN she said the Phillies are willing to kick in 2.5MM a year but want 3 or 4 Top prospects in return. An exec noted that Amaro doesn't seem to understand it's a massive financial burden to take on so he can't ask for big prospects back. Which is funny because that sort of inability to understand the economics of a transaction is pretty much Ruben Amaro Jr. defined.

That's why dealing with the Phillies is a crap shoot...Amaro is the definition of an idiot.

I talked about this today and the he is owed $90 million over the next four seasons. He is pitching very well so I guess if you could get the rest of this year and two solid season after that, it would be worth it.

Let's face it. He would look good in a Pirates uniform. He would be our ace for the next two years (health pending). But the Phils would have to eat $25 million of that to get three good prospects IMO.
