Another stellar performance by an offense.

Yeah, that's been the troubling thing thus far.

So-so pitching, but these bats can't handle lefties.

Pedro's fault.

Right, Mazzaro is so good that every team in the Major Leagues passed on the chance to get him for nothing. Twice.

While true he's done we'll with the big league club. He doesn't have knock you on your ass stuff but I never remember him letting games get away. He's not what the club is looking for. I see him as a long reliever but at some point based on depth titles shouldn't matter.

I see him as a minor leaguer. Thirty general managers agree with that assessment.[/quote]

First off you're irrelevant. Secondly, I'm not surprised you put yourself up on a pedestal with other general managers. What team do you manage?

Pedro is more useful on the bench as he is when he's playing. Anyone can go out there and strikeout 4 times and have 3 errors.

Pirates can't beat teams in there own division, and can't win on the road. Not a good formula for the playoffs.

Pedro has never struck out 4 times in a game this season.

And he's only struck out three times in four games out of 98 (90 starts).

Yeah, that symmetry is disheartening.

It's like the Buccos didn't get the memo we're supposed to hit better in the thin Mile High air...

I was wondering that myself.

And how many times would the Rockies have had to jump on that inside fastball before Locke figured out they were sitting on that?

That's usually a very effective pitch for him, but when they are sitting on it you have to work down and away.

When will Hurdle say that is enough with Pedro?

More stellar base running. This time courtesy of the MVP.

I don't think he should give up on Pedro, but there is absolutely no reason to not platoon him like 2 and a half years ago.

Just as irrelevant as you are, and I didn't put myself up on any pedestal. I merely pointed out that every general manager in baseball has determined that Mazzaro belongs in the minor leagues. Disagreeing with one general manager who thinks a guy belongs in the minors is one thing. Taking a stand against them all is a different matter.

It may not be that simple. Given Mazzaro's perfromances, I tend to believe the GM's don't believe he is $900,000 good for a waiver wire pick.

After watching the Rockies BP though, I have no idea why.
