I would not have expected that games 10-30 were the only ones this season where they played <.500 ball. Thanks for laying this out.

yeah, after the cards/reds series to end the first half it really felt like the sky was falling, but the bucs have been the tortoise since their first three 10-game sets, playing .500 or better per set since... sure would be nice to see the bucs swing an 8-2 ten-gamer in the near future, those are huge, or at least a couple of more 7-3'ers. how 'bout them brewers? they got off to a really great start, 21-9 in their first three 10-game sets, but not much else since. and the reds, those back-to-back 7-3'ers (61-70, 71-80) really put them in the mix. would love to see the bucs go at least 1-1 against the dodgers to wrap up the current set at 6-4 minimum.

updated: the bucs wrapped up the latest 10-game stretch with a win over the dodgers, putting their 10-game record at 6-4, not too shabby. threw in the a's as well for fun, zero sub .500 10-game stretches so far, four 7-3 stretches and one 8-2'er for a whopping +22.

bucs +8
cards +2
reds +2
brewers -3

again, not too shabby.

So, if that trend holds, you're telling me we'll be OK?

92-70 (+22) - bucs
87-75 (+12) - cards
84-78 (+06) - reds
82-80 (+02) - brewers

can of corn.

another 10 games has come and gone and, once again, the bucs finished the stretch above .500 with a 6-4 mark (chart in the first post has been updated to reflect this) - that makes 8 consecutive 10-game stretches in which the bucs have not played below .500 ball. since the ugly start of the season, since the first 30 games, the bucs own the third best record in baseball, behind only the a's and angeles. the bad news is the brewers righted their ship a bit during this 10-game stretch, going 6-4 as well, after playing below .500 ball in their two previous 10-game stretches. go bucs!
