Man, Cutch was so slow out of the box there and still turned that into a triple.

Of course the rain starts just when the Bucs start to get to Cueto.

Love it when Pedro runs his ass off like that!

Another tremendous play by Russell Martin saves a run, but why Stolmy and not Worley here? Stolmy should be used similar to a rule 5 guy...emergency and mop up only.

Pirate base running gimmicks need to go back in the bag. Cost them the thing run that inning...

The Great American Band Box has struck again. Seems like that is the 3rd or 4th home run that the Reds have hit this series that would have no chance of going out in almost every other park. All of the Pirates home runs have been pretty legit.

Pitching fails again. Makes me wonder how much longer hurdle can afford to send liriano out there. Team can't beat division teams. It will comeback to bite us in the end. If it wasn't for cutches heroics last night pirates would have been swept.

Not sure what to do with Liriano. Whatever he had last season, he's lost it. I think we're stronger with Morton, Locke, Cole (Cumpton), Worley, and Volquez right now.

Frieri hasn't shown a damn thing. Small sample size, but is anyone seeing any reason to be hopeful where he's concerned? I know Mazzaro is a popular guy around here, and I can't help but think he couldn't perform any worse.

One thing that continues to annoy me is Hurdle's insistence on letting pitchers who are struggling "work it out" on the mound. The first goal is to win the game, Clint. If the guy is walking people or getting hammered and the game is on the line, you have to take him out whether it's mid-inning or not. It's one thing to want to keep guys confident, but it's another to leave them hanging out there to get eaten alive...and at the expense of the team's success! Stop this madness!

I'm hoping we see this fabled Ike "Second Half" Davis. If not, I'll probably get on board with the "move Pedro to 1B and start Harrison at 3B" movement.

That haste be an offseason move. Moving him to a position he has never played mid-season is nuts.

Agreed. He also let Worley struggle out there too.

I don't think any baseball manager on earth could look good with this bullpen. What were Hurdle's options beyond Worley and Pimentel when Liriano failed to throw more than 4 innings? Remember, Gomez pitched last night.
