I'm Ron Potesta, the Director of Broadcasting for the Altoona Curve. I have just joined your website and look forward to hearing from Bucs fans throughout the land this April.

Good to have you with us, Ron. I'm going to try to catch a Curve game or two up at Erie, which is only 45 minutes away.

Great to have you with us! I'm sure you will provide lots of insight into the prospects at AA that will be a part of turning things around! If we organize a group gathering to Altoona for the board members here, I assume the first round is on you, correct?

Just the first round? Frankly, the best thing the organization can do at this point is keep their fans drunk. Im thinking a free beer with every hit and a shot of Chivas for every run scored.

Well, Ron, welcome aboard anyway, you cheap S.O.B. :D

You don't need to buy for me but I'll love you forever if you do.

Welcome, you are a great addition cause you can give all of us info on our young kids and maybe just as important, can answer the many questions we will have about the minors. Great to have you join us.

That's good news. The Curve only made it here twice last season. Great little urban ballpark, isn't it? I'll have to yell up to the broadcast booth to you...

Great to have you on board. Two things that you'll notice...

1. Everyone on here has the exact same opinion...on everything.

2. Sarcasm has no place here.

They don't call me "Alligator Arms" Potesta for nothing..I take pride in the fact that I'm a cheapskate.. lol

Seriously, thank you for welcoming me on board..for those of you who do come out to our humble abode (aka Blair County Ballpark) or to a road game, feel free to flag me down and say hi. I'm as much a fan as i am a broadcaster.

I look forward to answering questions and getting to know the very good talent we are about to receive this season. I can tell you this..the team is in good hands from a manager's perspective. Matt Walbeck is one of the best..he did a sensational job in Erie a couple years ago. He's got a phenominal pitching coach in Dean Treanor and a pretty solid hitting coach in Ryan Long.

I know it's easy to find alot of fault with the organization, but I can tell you in all honesty..Neal Huntington has done a tremendous job of weeding out the problems in the farm system. There is still alot of work to be done, but I can honestly say that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Have faith Bucco fans, your patience will be rewarded soon.

Curveradio,

Are you going down to Bradenton to see the club at all this spring?

Unfortunately, I am going to be extremely busy selling advertising and doing the last minute things needed to get the season started on the right foot.

Would love to be there so I could see the players and pull a practical joke on Trevor Gooby (Lord knows, he got me good when we worked together in Vero Beach).

April 8th can't come fast enough...

Are they still doing used car night as one of the promotions this year? Those were pretty cool in the past...

I usually get to about 10 games a year...Hopefully I'll get that many or more in this summer...all depends on my work schedule

Welcome to the board curve. Blair is a great park to watch a game at, and I believe I will be there late May or early June ... after Pedro gets promoted, and before Tabata moves up!

curveradio,
I live in Bowie and catch the Curve when they come to the Baysox stadium. I'm the guy down front with the bucket of nachos and the Mazeroski shirt...

Heres to the development of our heralded prospects...

I'm not sure about used car giveaway night..our promotional schedule is still up in the air.. we did lower the prices of our tickets and will be getting brand new sod in the outfield. Zelie, lets hope Pedro and Tabata get a chance to play together at some point..I was looking at the possibilities of our roster..there is a chance that the Altoona roster could have the first round picks from the last three years on the club at some point during the summer...Piratefan 13.. we got three visits to Bowie..what do you say we get a postgame cocktail somewhere?? BTW, the nachos are already making me hungry..
