Guess who's back, back again. J_C_Steel's back. Tell a friend.

As a reminder of my fan bonafides (and a demonstration of my brain-washing abilities as a father), I present to you my son Jack on March 31, 2014 -- Opening Day:

Image

Now, it's just another ballgame tonight, right? Nothin' special. Oh, wait, what's that shape on the horizon? It's huge! And smiling! And carries with it the scent of grass and scuffed baseballs and pine tar. Is it? Could it be?

Can't wait! I just finished watching a 3+ hour long funeral for our fallen RCMP in my city. I need something to cheer me up!

Tonight is 'Military Appreciation Night'.

Maybe it would have been too 'on the nose', but how was this not scheduled for June 6th?

Pirates PR failed on this one. :D

Polanco's debut and the annual charity phone in (for Military charities apparently this year). Where I get to check out the hot wives and girlfriends and listen to my wife complain how they are not really that hot. :-)

How can a guy be this inconsistent one year to the next.

Liriano is going to take us out of the game before we even get an at bat.

He's been consistent this year, consistently awful.

No idea, but somehow Liriano has found a niche as "Top 5 most wildly inconsistent player". Been that way for years. Seriously, the guy's won Comeback Player of the Year twice.

It's like the baseball gods are reminding us that even with Polanco up we still have no shot without pitching.

That's why he's the MVP.

After he popped out in his first at bat, I concluded that Polanco was totally overrated and should be sent back to AAA. After his line single to left, I decided that he's a no-brainer first ballot Hall of Famer

Most impressive thing I've seen him do so far: Still running at top speed long after Cutch's HR had stopped bouncing around in the Cubs bullpen.

Liriano out. I think he's been hurt all year.
