Hey all. This year, the Pirates are allowing the fans to vote for which bobblehead they would like to recieve on the Sept. 25th against the Dodgers. I am taking it upon myself to make this one of the most random current players possible. I'd like to see Romulo Sanchez voted as the bobblehead to be made on Sept 25th. Please follow the link below and vote as often as you would vote to send one of our players to the All-Star game. This could be the greatest bobblehead since the infamous Gorzelanny middle finger bobblehead.

Absolutely brilliant. I look forward to any opportunity to make a mockery of the Pirates promotions. I'd encourage everyone to write in Romulo! If we can get Freddy into an All-Star game, we can get a bobblehead of a mediocre minor leage middle reliever!

Spread the word!

I'll definitely be voting Roumlo. Kind of reminds me of the guy who wanted to vote Rory Fitzpatrick to the NHL All-Star game two years back.

Keep it going guys. We have until April 30th to vote him in.

Thanks to BucsDugout.com for picking up the thread and posting it on the PBC blog this morning!

Surely Bullish is voting.

The other bobblehead that I was considering making a campaign for was Big Yellow, the scoreboard dancer.

Both would have made wonderful bobble belly giveaways.

Dejan mentions in his blog this morning the push for the Romulo bobblehead

Quote:
The movement has begun: Write in Romulo Sanchez for the fan-vote bobblehead! It might get my vote, too, except that the bobblehead probably would show up a day late because of visa delays. If you want to participate, here is the form.

F Romulo. You should all be doing what I did and place a write in vote for Barry Bonds.

The topic of when are the Pirates going to acknowledge Bonds' past accomplishments to the team is an interesting one and definitely a topic for another day.

There isn't a spring big enough to make his head bobble.

Is there anyone out there who is more computer artistic and would be willing to design a flyer so I can pass them out at Pirates games?

Yeah, the same way management and ownership have honored the organizations' past accomplishments by fielding a competitive team and not ripping off the fans.

I'd rather send a message than have the Nuttings make a killing off of Bonds and his giant bobbling steroid head.

It would be interesting to see how giant the bobbling head would be, but I'm in favor of any bobblehead representing a Pirate from the 90-92 era, such as the aforementioned Bonds, a Jay Bell, Doug Drabek, or Bobby Bonilla. Those would be awesome.

It's amazing they haven't devoted an entire seasons worth of bobbleheads to those teams.

I know right? I'd be at every one of those. Sadly, the Pirates prospects of winning this year has turned me into a giveaway fan for 2009. Looking forward to April 18th and May 16th.
