I finally made it down to Bradenton and checked out the Bucs today. Not too much to report, but here's what I got:

1. Most of the "A" lineup made the trip to Sarasota today. As such, Alvarez, Lambo and Mercer were the only projected regulars who started today and none did much to impress. Pedro is still having trouble hanging onto the ball when it is hit in his direction and I doubt that it will ever change.

2. Morton, Grilli, Melancon and Watson all pitched today. The pitching highlights would include Grilli and Melancon's scoreless innings.

3. Gregory Polanco came in and played in the later innings. He broke up the no hitter late in the game and provided one of the few moments of offense by the Bucs this afternoon.

4. The ballpark was packed today and about half of the fans were rooting for the Sawks. Unfortunately, "Sweet Caroline" was played over the PA to accommodate the visiting fans. Sawks fans are the most annoying fans in sports.

That's about it from here. Next game for me will be Friday versus the Phillies.

Pittsburgh Baseball: Rebuilt and Reloaded.
