... that in the post season according to today's Tribune Walker was 0/19 and Marte was 1/19 so that our 1 and 2 guys were 1/38. Gesh-- that's not going to win many games for you. Marte at least had a bad hand during that time but what happened to Walker was more then just left handers.

It was quite unfortunate, especially since Cutch hit .333 in the postseason but had no one to move and/or drive in.

I said during the NLDS, and maintain now, that Tabata should have gotten some of Marte's starts, but Hurdle was bent on sticking with the exact same line-up every playoff game except for swapping Mercer/Barmes depending on the SP. Tabata posted OPS figures of .851 and .844 in August/September while Marte was a poor hitter in those months after coming back from injury. And considering Marte's high K rate anyway, Tabata by was really wasted by being designated to a couple PHs.
