1. Pedro Alvarez, 3b
2. Andrew McCutchen, of
3. Jose Tabata, of
4. Brad Lincoln, rhp
5. Bryan Morris, rhp
6. Neil Walker, 3b
7. Jeff Sues, rhp
8. Shelby Ford, 2b
9. Daniel McCutchen, rhp
10. Robbie Grossman, of

http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prospects/rankings/organization-top-10-prospects/2009/267437.html

And for reference here is last years:

1. Andrew McCutchen, of
2. Neil Walker, 3b
3. Steve Pearce, 1b/of
4. Brad Lincoln, rhp
5. Daniel Moskos, lhp
6. Shelby Ford, 2b
7. Jamie Romak, of
8. Brian Bixler, ss/2b
9. Duke Welker, lhp
10. Brad Corley, of

A lot more to be excited about especially when comparing the top 5. Two years removed from being drafted 4th in the 1st round, Moskos is gone. Does Steve Pearce not qualify as a prospect anymore? I like Sues a lot as well.

Nope. He's exceeded 130 career ML ABs.

Thanks. Just checked, he's sitting at a whopping 177!

I am very disappointed that John Perrotto is doing the list again. Although he is an excellent beat writer, he is also too close to certain people in the orginzation. You might think that is a good thing because he gets good information, but my point his bias could be towards what Pittsburgh front office people are telling him, not a neutral opinion.

I think the 2012 lineup is interesting.

They still have LaRoche and McLouth in the lineup. Nate is a possibility but LaRoche might not be back next season.

Catcher Ryan Doumit
First Base Adam LaRoche
Second Base Shelby Ford
Third Base Pedro Alvarez
Shortstop Jarek Cunningham
Left Field Nate McLouth
Center Field Andrew McCutchen
Right Field Jose Tabata
No. 1 Starter Brad Lincoln
No. 2 Starter Ian Snell
No. 3 Starter Bryan Morris
No. 4 Starter Paul Maholm
No. 5 Starter Tom Gorzelanny
Closer Natt Capps

BB, I certainly like the 2012 line-up over the 2011 one from last year. Compliments of my 2008 Handbook:

C - Paulino
1B - LaRoche
2B - Sanchez
3B - Walker
SS - Wilson
LF - Bay
CF - McCutchen
RF - Pearce

SP1 - Gorzelanny
SP2 - Snell
SP3 - Lincoln
SP4 - Maholm
SP5 - Duke
Closer - Capps

I only hope that next year we aren't looking at that 2012 line-up with disdain.
