Cards go from a slap hitting CF with no tools to a slap hitting CF with plus speed and defense. Also make room for Wong if they want to bump Carpenter back to 3rd base.

Now all they need is a shortstop. Sheesh...

Bourjos is a good player, but the Cardinals are losing their 2nd best hitter (Beltran) and counting a great deal on Wong. They are the team to beat in the NL Central, but I suspect that reality hits their BA with RISP and they miss Beltran a lot.

I want to knock this deal, but these are the Cardinals we're dealing with.

Knowing their luck, Bourjos will turn into Jim Edmonds or Chuck Finley 2.0, and Wong do his best Jason Kipnis impression.

They really wanted a leadoff hitter. And LAA really wanted an actual third baseman. Makes sense for both sides. And yeah, it's the Cardinals so Bourjos will likely go on to hit .500 /RISP this season, while also leading the league in grit.

Was hoping the Bucs could nab Freese on the cheap.
