Michael Wacha is amazing! Even though he's a Cardinal, I really like this guy and enjoy watching him pitch.

And, in a strange way, I'll take the Pirates team over the Boston team considering the fact that the Bucs were shut out by Wacha and lost versus Boston (and Boston's player payroll) only scoring two runs against Wacha and still losing...(if that makes any sense at all!). :? :D

The Pirates were genuinely good and would have been competitive against any of the playoff teams.

I think St. Louis is the best team and we gave them a good run. And I think the Cards will win the series.

While I'm envious, they did things the right way and if they win will have earned it, as opposed to a team like the Dodgers who tried to buy it.

Hard to believe he's on what, his 15th professional start? Amazing start to that young man's career.

And on the opposite end of the age spectrum, Carlos Beltran and David Ortiz are playing pretty impressively as well.

I had a feeling he'd buckle a bit under WS pressure...but nope...he's the real deal. My Cardinal fan friend at work tells me Wacha is the guy the Cards got as their compensatory pick for losing Pujols. Worked out pretty well for them I'd say.

I'm very much hoping that we are reading articles in May 2015 about how the NL Central may boast to have four of the best pitchers in the game: Wacha, Miller, Cole and Taillon.

Given what I've seen from the Bucs, Reds, and Cards, it might be more than four....

I'm seeing nothing from the Reds going down the road other than Dusty-induced elbow surgeries.

Baker stereotyping aside, their 1-2 of Cueto/Latos is one of the better combinations in the league, and Bailey and Leake both had very good seasons and are young enough to improve and/or show sustainability of such numbers. They probably actually improve Arroyo's spot in the rotation with Cingrani, and I'm also pretty sure that Price is still considering converting Chapman to a starter. That has the makings of a very good, potentially great rotation.

Cueto and Latos are the primary targets to fall apart to arm trouble, IMO.

Not saying the talent isn't there, but I see injuries on the horizon. Baker has a stereotype for a reason.

Cueto's crazy delivery seems to have given him a couple core injuries. He's likely to end up putting more stress on the arm going forward, I'd wager.

That's why he stopped doing the turn. He's tinkering with his mechanics because it's contributing to the injuries. And without his deceptive delivery, Cueto is "just another guy."
