Absolutely!

94 wins and the future looks very, very bright.

Proud to be a Bucs fan.

My 7-year old asked me before he went to bed, if the Pirates lose, will you be mad? I said nope. He asked will you be sad? I said yes. He asked why? Because I don't want this season to end. He replied, but won't they be even better next year? I paused and replied. Yes, they will be better next year and we will be excited again.

Actually, Wainwright and Wacha were better than the Pirates and in a five-game series, that's enough.

The Cards play small, fundamental baseball better than anyone.

Ironically, it was the long ball that did us in.

Although most of you hate me, which I could careless. Great season buccos! Hurt more than I thought it would. But having a winning season and making the playoffs met my expectations. Hopefully they can go to the next level soon.

They are a heck of a team. Hard not to admire them.

From Jayson Starke:

Quote:
They've now played six winner-take-all postseason games in the past three Octobers -- and won five of them. They've played nine elimination games in the past three postseasons -- and won eight of them.

Twice now over the past three years, they've charged back to win Games 4 and 5 of a Division Series after falling behind, two games to one (the other time coming in 2011, against the Phillies). Maybe that doesn't seem so difficult -- except that all the other franchises in baseball have combined to do that ONCE in the past decade.

St. Louis certainly is better than us. They hit a lot better, and I think they pitch better too. Or at least their top guys do.

As it was all season, offense was our achilles heel. Pedro was the only guy who really produced, other than maybe Byrd. But how many curveballs would Pedro have had to swing over in the ninth before he realized those were below the knees?

Still, a great ride and great production given our talent level, both with the 94 wins and the postseason wins.

The old saying "you have to walk before you run", well we certainly learned how to walk this year. Here is to a great 2013 and for a better 2014. Thank you Pirates for a great season.
Only a couple players away from where the cards are now.

I'm not sure that's true. It's hard to say that when the Bucs and Cards split their meetings 12-12, with the Cards taking the division and three of five in a hard fought playoff series.

HOWEVER, I do feel as though the Bucs had ample opportunity to beat them; even if it wasn't true.

Also, I would very much like for the Bucs to have another opportunity this time next year.

Great season, looking forward to more!
