I came home last night late and watched the replay of the game. I was so excited to see Bob Costas do the game. Bob is one of my favorite sports personalities and especially when it comes to baseball. He respects the sport and tradition and also can call a pretty good game.

Very happy to see him do post-season games. TBS should be watching.

Said the same thing. Plus Jim Kaat is excellent as well. MLB Network was beyond superior in their coverage. Studio guys are better, game announcers are better, they had super slow mo, and hey...they didn't miss any plays. TBS is atrocious all around...

It would never happen, but Bob Costas would be a great commissioner of baseball.

Not only does he respect the game and its traditions, but he also makes it about the game. So many of these announcers try to make it "about them."

Costas helps to alleviate having to listen to and see Keith Olbermann's repulsive presence on the pre and post game shows. Can't wait till we are down with TBS

Eh, Bob comes off as too rigid for me. Takes himself too seriously, has a stick up his ass, whatever you want to call it. He's better than most, though.

I tend to agree with you. I especially thought the video essay on guns after the Jovan Belcher incident was a bit of an abuse of his position/platform. I'm sure there have been other incidents but that one sticks out.

When he's focused on the sports he's very, very good though.

I like Bob. Anyone who started in the ABA and is still going strong is ok with me...... :D :D :D
Of course I used to listen to John Sterling when he was the voice of the ABA NY Nets..... :o :o :o
