I was glad to see the Bucs finish with that record, 26 games over .500, because that was the high-water mark of the season, as they headed to Colorado after their sweep of the Marlins.

So, despite all the nail biting, the doom and gloom and "Here comes the collapse" talk, they played .500 the rest of the season. Not good enough to win the division, but not a collapse either.

If the Buccos field two routine balls in the 9th inning, they are 96-66.

Further, the Pirates were 93-63 following their 1-5 start.

Keep it going, Buccos, win the game tomorrow and send Dusty Baker back to where he belongs - the Moron Hall of Fame.

If they also catch a lazy fly ball to left, they're 97-65 (and the Cards are 96-66).

Then again, if three Astros don't stand around and let a popup drop between them, they're...

Ah, never mind.

Yeah, it's always easy to forget about games like that and like the Angels game where the left fielder gave them three free runs in the 10th.

The Astros game was tied at the time. They did not blow a lead with the error. Tie game, Pirates pen vs. Astros pen, I think the scales tip in favor of the Buccos.

The Angels game was epic, and the guy was in LF only because Peter Borjous hurt his hand earlier in the game, forcing Trout to move from LF to CF.

If Trout is in the game, at least 1, and possibly as many as 3, Pirates hits get caught.
