Since media members don't have agendas in Pittsburgh, I'm sure media backlash is imminent

The Penguins did SEAL training last year as well. The gripe wasn't about other sports teams, it was about other baseball teams not doing it. And it was about risking injury.

I didn't have a problem with team training supervised by Navy SEALs. That's fine. I did have a problem with minor league coaches making players run through icy pools of water in pre-dawn hours without SEAL supervision. As great as this year has been, I hope the Pirates don't do that sort of thing anymore.

I'm afraid you're a bit behind on this one as the media have already, in past months, explained away the differences. In short, its the Penguins and Fred Shero approving, not the Pirates and an unqualified Kyle Stark that organized it.

See how simple the explanation is?

Yeah but this time there are pictures of Geno and Neal carrying a huge log up a hill.

That's an injury risk and is putting young guys in danger they don't need to be in!

When it's supervised by Navy SEALs, I feel better about it. I'll just leave it at that.

The seal training wasn't the issue that I saw it was the Stark "hoka hey" email that raised eyebrows.

It was about Dejan being pissed because somebody in the front office lied to him. That's the entire extent of the "controversy".
