Sickels' end-of-season top-75 ranking includes six Pirates prospects in the top 61, and includes Kingham as an honorable mention.

Good pool of players, and includes both Meadows and McGuire in the list.

Pretty solid 2013 draft so far.

Even more specifically, 5 of the 6 are top 50 (well, Hanson at 51).

2013 draft is looking to be one of Huntington's best despite it being the least flashy in that they finally didn't have a top pick with a predetermined, hype-worthy target (Alvarez, Cole, Taillon, trying for Appel). Instead the Pirates were able to nab both the best catcher and OF options available. Meadows as a no. 8 pick ranked at #29 is pretty great. This of course all coming from Cole recently graduating as well. And, it's always nice to receive a write-up like "Insanely good K/IP ratio and hit rates" (Glasnow). Bell and Heredia could show up on the bottom of some other top 100 lists as well.

Meadows got some Jay Bruce comps this year, FWIW. Could never figure why Frazier was ranked higher. Always felt like Meadows was so hyped for so long that teams just picked apart tiny flaws and he got overexposed (seriously, one of the things they dinged him on was that he looked lethargic at times).

I'm actually surprised that Frazier is still ranked so closely to Meadows....his calling card was his (perceived) polish compared to Meadows. He doesn't possess a ton of projectability given his frame and his age.

Edit: The Rangers are idiots. CJ Edwards (ranked 2 spots behind Glasnow) was one of the pitchers they gave up for Garza. They overpaid drastically. Oy vey.

Yeah at the time I wasn't sure why Meadows fell as far as he did.

Also worth noting that space will open up at the top of lists now that the BoSox mega-SS prospect Xander Bogaerts has graduated. And Sickels is clearly all in on the high upside SS's, hence 5 of them in the top 15, and then none until the 45-50 range (with Hanson not far behind at 51, and JP Crawford, the defensive SS that many mock drafts had the Pirates taking this year early on).

Luhnow and Epstein's rebuilding efforts are well represented on the list as well as the Cubs and Astros have 6 in as well, and the Twins of course with both numbers 1 and 2 (with Bogaerts promoted) with Buxton and Sano. As far as the overall team farm system rankings that will come out next year I think you might see an interchangeable top 4-5, though certain scouts were highly optimistic about the Pirates system finally coming full circle with depth that puts them over the top this past year.
