I'm at an Octoberfest celebration right now. I'm that guy with his cell phone out watching the game, being anti-social...

I typically find it cliche when people label 15-20 catches a year as "great catches" ... but that was a truly special catch by Marte to rob Votto.

WHAT a catch by Marte. My goodness. Random aside...how have they not put the kibosh on that horrible fake bunt thing he does on the first pitch of a lot of his at-bats? He gives away a strike soooo often.

Welcome to the club. I've been calling for an end to the pathetic first pitch drag bunt attempt since April. The fact that Hurdle and the staff haven't permanently put an end to it in late September is a legitimately significant coaching gaffe as far as I'm concerned. You can't have your lead-off hitter who is averaging a 25% K rate so far in the majors getting behind in so many counts for trying something that fails 99% of the time.

Yeah, it's an interesting thing. It's so far out of the realm of possibility that the coaching staff wouldn't have addressed it that I almost wonder if it's some kind of nervous tic.

Byrd misses by a couple inches. Pedro leaves nothing to chance by destroying that one. BOOM

Everyone in the ballpark knew that ball was gone the instant it left the bat.

Makes up for Byrd just missing....

Stick with A.J. or bring out Shark and then Grilli to get them some work?

Either way, I love you A.J.!
