Great Games is on the MLB Network as I speak. Bottom of the first just ended. I missed the first part so I am not sure why it is a great game but what the hey.

Az -
BLASPHEMY that you can't remember this game. BLASPHEMY!!!!
This is the greatest comeback ever in baseball history and it occurred against the hated Cubs!!! For those who may be interested in burning a DVD, the game is being replayed on MLB TV beginning at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning. I was in my first year of law school and used Harry Caray's comment in the top of the 11th after Dawson's HR that supposedly "sealed the victory" as the greeting on my answering machine which was followed by a big 'ol "NOT!" in my voice.

In all seriousness, I hope this finds you well . . . heading to Okie City tomorrow for a few days (work related) and looking forward to getting out of the snow.

I remember that game very well. Pirates trailed something like 7-2 going into the bottom of the 8th, then rallied to tie the game and send it into extra innings.

Cubs score 5 in the top of the 12th (I think) to go up 13-8. Pirates score 6 in the bottom of the inning to win, 14-13.

The foregoing is from memory. I also recall that Bonds tripled to tie to the game and scored the game winning run with one out when Slaught hit the ball over the CF'er.

Was this a Sunday afternoon game and did Mike Lavalliere hit a grand slam? I'm sorry I missed this on MLB Network.

I didn't catch it, but what was the date on that game? 1991 season?

If they ever air the May 1992 game against the Reds, where the Bucs scored 11 in the 6th.... PM or email me immediately. Heck, even call me!
