This is my first time watching Cashner. From the looks of his "stuff" so far he looks pretty nasty.

Mr. Cashner is dealing. I hope the Bucs can solve him tonight because A.J. is pitching a good game. At this late date and being in a tight pennant race, you don't want to waste a solid outing by one of your starting pitchers.

Offense has to step up! Let's Go Bucs!

All right offense. Nothing but goose eggs after 4. Time to get something going.

I hope the bullpen gets rocking, Burnett is on the verge of implosion. He's really been grinding through this shutout so far.

Good news is they still have a zero in the run column. Unfortunately, this is when AJ usually starts falling apart.

Yup, I'd rather take him out too early than too late. One run will win this game.

This might have been mentioned on the broadcast (not listening) but the Padres are the only team in the league without a no-hitter recorded FWIW.

McCutchen Cadillaced that play - not ready to throw, at all.

Awful, awful, awful position for the pop fly by McCutchen. He had all day to camp under and he caught it flat-footed. His throw rolled up the pitchers mound to home plate. Poor positioning, ugh.

There's the run.

He did not think the runner was going and half-assed the play.

May as well be a billion runs with the Pirates' offense tonight.

Yep. Probably thought that Cedeno wouldn't run. Really poor effort.

Padres out hustling the Pirates all over the place. They are playing like a team that is trying to earn a playoff spot.

It's easy to see why CH would stick with A.J. there, but... it's also easy to see why he should have been out of the game.

When the crowd gives a standing O [when A.J. got out of the 6th inning jam] it's a not-so-subtle sign.
