Of late, he has really showed some impressive speed for his size. He was motoring around the bases.

All of Leyva's transgressions this year are forgiven after this one.

May be the play of the year!

He also has two triples this year and scored on his own single (and an error) in San Diego last month.

I remember all of that...those are what I am basing this on...especially the "little league" HR!

But this one, he was FLYING!

I thought the replay clearly showed it bounced off of a fans hands and therefore a regular HR not an inside the park HR?

That argument does nothing to take away from the fact that he is always hustling. A certain CF could have easily done the same if he had started running when he hit the ball a couple weeks ago. I remember reading nothing about his lack of hustle. It got lost in the I adore Andrew image.

If you go back to that thread, I criticized Cutch when he didn't run out of the box. My point was I think he hustles 99% of the time. I fully take back my doubts about Pedro's desire which I had coming into this season. But let's be fair...watch the replay...Pedro walked 3 or 4 steps out of the box last night because he thought he hit a HR. They all do that stuff in this era...I don't care for it, but just about all of this generations players do it. Some of you need to stop being so defensive about your .230 hitting third baseman. Until he gains SOME consistency he will have to deal with some criticism.

You're right of course but he has hit home runs more constantly then anyone else in the league hasn't he.

my point about the fact that it was not an inside the park homerun had nothing to do with Pedro. I like Pedro even with his batting flaws. My point was the broadcast crew that saw the same replay I did kept on saying inside the park all night. maybe they had an agenda - Pom Pom broadcasters? Maybe Greg Brown ( or was it Neverett?) was just caught up in the emotion of it all. The bottom line is none of it mattered as we got jobbed by the umpire and lost the game. It would have been nice if we could have finished despite the bad call but it didn't work out.

now we move on to go for 3 out of 4 and on to the Padres.

Cutch actually does this quite often..as I am sure all the players do...but I take notice of Cutch. Even last night Cutch hit one where he did not hustle out of the box. First to home, Cutch goes 1000 MPH. Not so much from home to first, unless he is going for an infield hit. As I said though, not really criticizing Cutch, most players do this.
