Remember when... Charlie Morton was compared to Roy Halladay?

The last month, he reminded me more of Steve Blass, circu 1973

I think Locke can/will be a very good pitcher eventually, because he seems to have the mental toughness to succeed. Of course you need stuff, but his is good enough, and I think with his makeup he'll only gain more command of it. I can see him as a very nice 3 or 4 behind Cole, Taillon and say, Kingman.

I agree. I think he would look really good in rotation BETWEEN Cole and Tallion!

I hate to say this but I believe that Locke had some people in his head. Especially after he won 3-2 against the Reds on 7/21. When they went to Miami, I remember he was pitching on the corners and he wasn't getting the calls. Even Walk made several comments regarding his pitches being in the box but they were being called balls.
IIRC he has a few dinker hits and shortly after, over the next few games, he started missing a little further outside and seeing his outings become shorter.
Thursday's game was indicative of the guy who was pitching with confidence and command. I believe he needed a game like that for his confidence. I'll be excited to see his next few outing to say for sure that he is back to the guy who was worthy of an All-Star nod.
