I do indeed:

October, 1970 when the Pirates made the playoffs.
October, 1971 when I watched the Pirates in person in the playoffs.
October, 1971 when The Great One showed why he was The Great One.

You're setting the bar pretty high citing Al and Young. :D

I was always fond of Womack, Fransisco Cordero and other 'scrappers'.

Remember when we all thought Cutch wouldn't re-sign?

I really liked Joe Randa, hard-nosed, scrappy and as others have pointed out in hindsight, leaving him unprotected was, in many ways the beginning of the slide, as they had to bring Ramirez up before he was ready and he hit arbitration before his 22nd birthday. I also liked Mark Smith and Polcovich.

And Womack? Another of Bonifay's nails in the 20 year coffin. Guy wasn't good enough to play second base for us, but managed to play short on a Pennant winner. While we got Pat Meares.

I'm not really a fan of all the retrospective Milledge bashing that Pirates fans seem to do. I guess he became a whipping boy due to the poor baseball IQ or arbitrary things like what his parents named him, but I saw him as a reclamation project who came in with a troubled past/reputation when he was young and he showed himself to be mature and displayed a good work ethic with the Pirates. Furthermore, he just wasn't as bad as fans seem to think he was. He actually performed better than Brandon Moss in taking his place. He played solid defense and hit for a tolerable BA/OBP. Yeah, he had no power for a RF, but neither do Jose Tabata or Travis Snider. I actually liked him a lot when he was here and wasn't in favor of the non-tender since they could have kept him in a platoon/bench role to hit LHP.

Yeah but he raped people as a kid. And was a terrible influence on McCutchen, turning him in to the clubhouse cancer we see today.

Moved into our new house in 1970 and it had an antenna so we could pick up Pittsburgh stations. Started my interst in sports. Pretty damn good time to root for Pittsburgh baseball and football. 6 championships in the 70's. I was just a kid at the time!
