Great sweep of the tough Rangers, IN TEXAS! Take that, those of you griping the Bucs were done after the sweep in Saint Louis! Keep the faith. No matter what. It ain't over till the fat lady sings!

Speaking of exaggerating someone's demise, check out the box score. ;)

That would apply to quite a few ... Morneau, Barmes, Farnsworth. Anybody else?

Is it just me, or is Barmes good for at least one home run off of a foul pole each year?

And the Reds sweep the Dodgers and then can't even stay in the game with the Cubs. That's baseball.

They stayed in the game pretty well today but 2 out of 3 works.

In general, not shocked by the turnaround. The Bucs have bounced back from losing streaks all year.

This one was most impressive though, it coming vs. the Rangers at Arlington.

This team continues to impress and inspire.

I suspect that the Dodgers are benefitting from a candy-ass division, but will fold like a cheap suit when they play real competition.

Their flaccid showing against the Reds certainly shut up their pompous announcers. The crawled out of Cincinnati, looking forward to more games against the Diamondbacks, Padres, etc.

I hope so. But Kershaw & Greinke are no joke.

Hope it's not the only 4 hits he gets for the next week!

One thing you have to say about Barmes....he hasn't done a whole lot in two years, but what he HAS, has been in dramatic fashion!

Greinke is a nibbling p@ssy. His start against the Pirates showed he was absolutely terrified of throwing a pitch over the plate.

I think that the same thing can be said for the Braves. With the exception of Washington's very recent hot streak, the rest of the division has been under .500 for most of the season. Either it's me and my hatred of the Atlanta 9, or it seems that every time this year that the Braves have gotten hot, it has been while they have been beating up on their division. I believe that the Bucs, Cards and Reds have benefited from actual competition this season and wouldn't be surprised if the results reflect that in a few weeks.

That may be true Bucfan, but you have to admit that the Bucs have a proclivity for chasing pitches outside of the strike zone. That plays right into the hands of pitchers who throw down and away and live on the outside edges of the plate.

The Bucs need to cut down on those swings and stop chasing pitches OUTSIDE of the strike zone. And, to make it more maddening, many Pirates have stood there and have taken a strike three call from the HP Umpire when the pitch was a solid strike IN the strike zone.

The Pirates need to cut down on those type of plate appearances. Take the walk, or swing the damn bat and put the ball in play...that's if the pitch is hittable...and use ALL OF THE FIELD to put the ball in play!
