Perhaps it's just me being petty, but for the fans sake, wouldn't it be nice to not repeat the exact same opening series in the same ballpark as this year? They open the season against the Cubs again at PNC next year. Not to mention that the Pirates opened at Wrigley two years ago.

First 26 are all division games, so that ends the recent stretch of opening up with a West Coast swing. That won't come until the end of May. Other notable series are at Yankee Stadium in mid-May and Boston returning to PNC.

Alas, I will be glad to finally catch a series here at GABP in April. Like clockwork it seems as though the Pirates don't end up visiting until June/July every year the past 5-6 seasons.

Any desire for a UPPMB meetup in Baltimore? I'd love to see that ballpark.

I'm over here on the Eastern Shore and would love some company at Camden Yards. I'm sure JC can make it up from NoVa....

I know he doesn't post much anymore but isn't LtCol Kojak Slaphead in Baltimore too? If not he had an uncanny amount of knowledge about the Orioles organization from what I remember.

You must have missed Bud's memo that Detroit is our natural AL rival.

And what a rivalry it is! Most Detroit fans have never gotten over the loss to the Bucs in the 1909 World Series :D

I don't like the 2014 schedule. Just look at next September. 9 home games and 17 road games. How is that fair? I understand that we have 17 home games in August, but the pennant race is in September and I'll be the other division contenders will have a more favorable home schedule.

We just have to be like Atlanta and put it away by September 1. A nice 10.5 game lead on the Cards will feel nice.
