Had the Red Sox/Rays game on my "secondary" television in the man cave last night. Farrell goes "full-out Hurdle in the 5th inning:" http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.js ... mode=plays

I wonder if there is a Red Sox message board out there somewhere with members going ballistic and referring to the Red Sox getting #Farrelled?

2 innings - 2 sac bunts for Red Sox against Yankees. Sabathia on mound for Yankees. Red Sox have Lester on mound.

Team with best record in baseball getting #Farrelled.

I think it's more indicative of the tiny in-game impact that a manager actually has that so many teams are succeeding despite terrible strategists at the helm.

For the most part, outside of personnel decisions, evidence shows that most in-game decisions hurt more than help in the majority of situations.

And to be fair, No. 9, giving Sabathia an out this year is doing him a huge favor. The guy is bad Paul Maholm with a slightly better slider - 88-89 mph fastball, low K rate, high walk rate, lots of HR's allowed.
