I just shot No. 9 a message. I'm about to watch Game 7 of the '92 NLCS. I need to. I haven't watched it since it happened. I've had to turn away when random highlights have come on the air. It's time.

Let me tell you something, I'm nervous.

I'm not sure how you guys have coped with this but I've turned my back to it. For those of you that have demons to destroy...join me.

I didn't realize the Pirates had the bases juiced with Van Slyke up in the 7th inning with a 2-0 lead. Son of a...

Part of me is spiteful and wants the Bucs to face the Braves in the NLCS, en route to the pennant.

The other part is apathetic and just wants the pennant, opponent(s) be damned.

The first phase of the exorcism is nearly complete... and yet it feels like there are at least two or three phases left...

I can still see Spanky barking at Randy Marsh like the game was played last night.

Just watched the 9th. Cabrera can still suck it. Just a little bit less now is all.

I didn't get to see this game live. I was working second shift at the time. I went to my car on my last break. Turned on radio, bucs up 2-0 in 8th. I'm like buccos going to the series! Then when my shift ended turned on my radio. Crowd is going crazy, but nothing! I'm like what happened? Are bucs celebrating?

Finally announcer says, Atlanta wins it. I was like fuck! Thought I was going to wreck my car driving home. Ughhhh! Maybe worst sports moment in my life. Worse than any steelers loss.

That game symbolically puts to rest any analysis that says "a closer is not important, or any pitcher can close the 9th, or it isn't more important than the 8th".

Any good pitcher. Was Stan Belinda good at any inning?

If only they had 2001 Mariano Rivera to close this out.

That was a good pitch. Just a better hit. Came down to Bonds playing shallow on a ball laced to him not being able to throw out a one legged man.

Hell, I'd have taken the one year of Jim Gott.
