Morneau is hitting 'em where they ain't like nobody's business tonight. Looks like the Cards.

Man, poor Russ. Tough for him.

Barmes has been pretty stellar on defense for the last couple of weeks. Really bad at the plate, though, other than the 3-run homer against San Fran.

Or yesterday where he singled and scored and then doubled and scored.

That was a perfectly drawn up and executed hit and run. Start Cutch, shortstop vacates his spot and Morneau takes aim. Bingo. Just like you draw it up in the dugout. You walk Cutch and face a seasoned, disciplined hitter and that's what happens. Jones would've K'd two or three pitches before.

Leadoff walks are right up there with bubble screens in the red zone on my likeability meter.

Yup, worked well that time. Makes up for their first inning that had some flares drop in. With our luck I'd have anticipated a ball that was stung right to the guy going over to cover.

I dunno why the hell Mazzarro was in there in a non-tie game in the 8th. Are Wilson/Watson hurt?

To be fair to Mazzaro, it should have never been a 3-0 count.

Yeah I felt like one of the lefties should've been available with Chuck going deep yesterday.

Grilli is available tonight. Not saying it was the play there but he was available.

On the bright side, Mark Melancon is still available if we get up between 1 and 3 runs at any point, even if we're facing their 7-8-9 men.
