Pirates have hit 177 home runs on the road since the start of the 2012 season - the MOST in major league baseball.

I would have never guessed that.

How about this? In that same time frame, Bucco pitchers have given up 154 HRs in those games. Yet, despite hitting 23 more home runs than the opposition in those games, the Bucs have been outscored by 26 runs (647-621).

I bet over 100 of our HR's are solo shots.

How much of the run differential came during the "collapse"?

We were -58 over the collapse (I took it from 63-47 to the end of the season).

We gave up 4.76 runs per game over that stretch (248 runs over 52 games).

Cutch also slumped big-time. Small wonder we got our asses kicked.

Still, some of the scores were depressing in terms of "we coulda won and broken the streak before 20". 12-8, 13-9, 9-7, 9-8. Then of course some games that were 12-2, 11-0, etc.

Shockingly, also had some big wins but unless we scored 6 runs we were losing pretty consistently.

I bet over 100 of our HR's are solo shots.

I'll bet that would also be the case for any other team in MLB.
