Fox Sports reports that Presley has been traded to the Twins for Morneau.

The Pirates continue to add pieces to their lineup for the stretch run. Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports they have acquired Justin Morneau from the Twins for outfielder Alex Presley.

One of their sources says Twins were holding out for Kingham. That would have been disastrous - but I can't imagine NH would have seriously considered doing that.

Can't complain about giving up too much. Hope Pressley gets a chance in Minnesota. Always liked his effort...

I can't believe the Twins salary dumped a guy as popular as Morneau. Nobody on Twitter seemed to think they'd take that PR hit.

Jon Heyman is reporting there also may be a PTBNL. Let's hope it doesn't end up being a decent prospect. If that is the case, then they did give up too much.

PTBNL or cash. That tells me that "prospect" would be minimal at best.

There's been multiple reports that the Bucs would eat the remaining salary. So I'm thinking cash is what's going to come of that....they probably just didn't want to advertise it as strictly dumping his salary for a NP guy.

Just my opinion on that, but piecing it together I'm thinking the cash part is the Pirates taking on the salary.

They didn't rob the Twins. A month of Morneau just isn't worth very much.

As it turned out, neither was two months of Iginla and Morrow.....but that's for another day.

I dunno. I'm liking the week of Buck and Byrd thus far.

And a month of Presley is? I'll take my chances with Morneau over Alex.

Per Sawchik on twitter the ptbnl is "significant". I'd be surprised if that's true. Probably doing the politically correct thing there with the lip service.

Since there are TWO Morneau threads, why not comment on both? ;)

Really like this move, for multiple and obvious reasons.

Even if Morneau is on the downslope, he adds a legitimate/consistent bat to an already potentially (on a good day) potent lineup. CH can now platoon 1B as JM/Gaby and not think twice about it.

This is like buying a stock option that you will certainly strike; the only unknown is the final strike price.

Fantastic move by the Bucs!! You gotta give something to get something and the Bucs didn't give up that much.
They are ALL in this year and the beautiful thing is they didn't give up a ton...

Duke Welker is the PTBNL. Trade from depth...I like the deal.
