Really hurts not having Marte. Alvarez is the only glaring hole in that lineup, although Byrd and Marte are both significantly better against lefties than Tabata.

Well now . . . interesting linuep. Gorzo blows. Let's hope the bats come out smoking.

I don't understand why Hurdle bats Alvarez ahead of Gaby against left-handers. Makes no sense to me.

Beats me. Has to be thinking towards late-game situations but unless they chase a guy early I'd much prefer a Mercer-Cutch-Byrd-Sanchez look in the middle of the order given their lefty splits.

Nice start to the game by Harrison, Mercer and Cutch.

I'll even take the shot by Byrd. Gorzo is lucky to be alive.

Yeah, sh*t luck for Byrd too. That was a rally killer but gotta tip your hat to Gorzo there.

Gaby drives in a run off of a LHP? Surely that is meaningless considering he can't hit RHP.

No it helps because he doesn't have RBIs against lefties. That's what matters. His ability to actually create runs against lefties means nothing.

Yeah - I posted the 5 runs before first inning was over.
