Although it's probably only for a few days, who stays and who goes? Lambo looks overmatched a lot. While he had a much better year than Pie in the minors, Pie looks more comfortable.

Does the 10-day rule apply with September 1 call-ups?

I would stick with Lambo. I like that power potential and I don't think he looks overmatched. He just needs reps to settle in. He squared one up last night.

That being said, Pie's speed is an asset and he has much more experience.

Hopefully, it's a moot point. With Byrd in, and Marte's return, either one would only be getting a few PH appearances here and there!

I would want the veterans off the bench.

But unfortunately Marte's return may be three weeks away - which will likely mean a few starts over that time for whichever one stays.

Probably Pie. He brings the baserunning we lost with Marte. Byrd brings the power we wanted with Lambo. Marte's baserunning was pretty big, even with all of his gaffes.

I also think Pie plays better defense in left field than Tabata. That matters, particularly at PNC Park.

Probably, although I'm interested to see if Byrd plays there at all since he's played CF up until this year. I think he's definitely a better option there than Tabata and I don't know if they'll take Jose's bat out of the lineup at this point.

He has solid numbers to date and has the lowest K rate among starters by almost 1%. So I don't think it's luck (also a .304 BABIP), he definitely doesn't seem overmatched. Especially paired with a solid 8.5% BB rate.

Hmmm, all depends on if Byrd can play left field at PNC until Marte's return. If yes, play Lambo and Tabata in right. If no, keep Pie, and platoon Tabata and Pie in left. Lambo's glove doesn't play left at PNC, Tabata is not an everyday player and I'm not even sure he plays left at PNC well. He did okay before the injuries and loss of speed.

The Pirates could send Lambo to Altoona and bring him back on Tuesday. He'd just miss five games.

I believe they'd have to DFA Felix Pie and risk losing him.

Why not try a platoon of Lambo/Tabata in right? However, Pie has looked good

My thoughts as well.
