No getting around it: I hated the outcome of this series.

Still, no denying it: It was intense as hell.

Finding ways to lose, instead of ways to win. Bad trend. Have to get 2 of 3 from Dbacks...

Awesome series. If you told me we'd go to extras with Cutch and Walker going a combined 0-10 I wouldn't have believed it. Good thing is, they'll bounce back.

AJ should have been pulled when it was 4-2, keeping him in there when you can see he is getting hit hard is sad, especially with our bullpen.

Cardinal hitters are the masters of the seeing-eye dribbler.

@#$% them.

Losing 2/3, including a game you would have won if not for a dropped routine fly ball, is not an "awesome series." The defense has been slipping a bit, and the team needs to focus down the stretch. I believe the Pirates are capable of bouncing back, but if the team loses the division by one or two games, we'll remember that loss on Tuesday...

Bullshit! Marte drops a routine fly ball we lose. Aj stinks up the 5th inning today, we lose. Nothing positive about that. Not to mention being swept by the Rockies last weekend. They better right the ship very fast.

It's a slump, filled with some pretty weird happenings I might add. Every team has them, and it's why it's nice to build multiple game leads.

Being back in PNC will be nice.

Offense has to find away again.

Take your blinders off. If that were Morton everyone would have been all over him. Aj is not getting it done this year. Nobody can criticize precious Aj. He tanked last weekend in Colorado, and today. He's 5-9 for a reason. You guys really must put something in your kool aid!

You didn't think the entertainment value and intensity were incredible? That was a series between 2 legitimately good teams in August and the Pirates were one of those teams. That series was probably the best we've witnessed all year.

The outcomes sucked but you give me AJ with a 4 run lead and Marte with a can of corn any day of the week and I'll take my chances. They bounced back very well from Colorado, the 3 Cards pitchers we saw were the best they have (maybe Westbrook). Very close to a sweep on some freak occurrences. They could've folded and did the opposite.

That's AJ Burnett's game log. Outside of his past two starts, I see one game where he gave up more than 3 earned runs.

Whatever is in your kool-aid was produced in a meth lab.

If it were Morton, then he would have Morton's track record.

You have to go into St. Louis and take 2 of 3 or else all is lost.

I just don't see how you can watch this past series and think that the Buccos are in bad shape. Yeah, a fluke dropped pop-up turned 2 out of 3 into 1 out of 3. Does anybody actually think that they are going to continue dropping routine flies?

They left some runners on the bases that should have scored, but that is anything but new for this team. It did not just happen in this past series.

The massive number of K's and runners left at 3rd with 0 or 1 out are simply painful.

Is that new? They went through an entire calendar month with 0 sac flies. A month!

Why the panic now, basically due to a play that will likely never happen again ever?

Gotta agree with SA here. 'Awesome' isn't the right word, but there was quality baseball played all three games/27+ innings.

One really dumb mistake cost the series and another really bad inning cost a potential sweep. Those two events included, the Bucs still could have taken 2/3 or the sweep with one or two plays.

This really should serve as a benchmark series; it had all the makings of a playoff face-off.

Bucs need to remember this one; because the lessons here were many.
